Discover the Charm of Jade Island
Criminal Rules
All criminal activities must be portrayed realistically and role played fairly at all times.
We understand that what is realistic to some may not be to others. Whilst it would be impossible to list the unlimited number of crimes and criminal activities that could occur in RP, here are a few examples of what would be considered unacceptably unrealistic.
-
A character pulling copious amounts of illegal drugs, or weapons (or anything else) out of thin air.
-
A player who suddenly invents a whole crew or gang of NPCs or Alts to defend them, or elevate them to a position of advantage not gained through legitimate roleplay.
-
A Serial Killer who rampages without seeking OOC consent from potential Victims.
-
The use of: Bombs, Nukes, Chemical Weapons and any other weapons of mass destruction or mass casualty.
You must obtain OOC consent to vandalize or enter a player's rental.
After committing a crime in Jade Island, if you leave behind a "scene" such as a dead body, broken windows from a break-in, or any other physical evidence, you should 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮. Follow the enclosed instructions to enable other players to discover and further engage in roleplay with what you've left behind.
Mafia, MC, Gang's, Crew's, Squad's, Call em what you like!
Mafia, Cartels, Bratva, Yakuza/Gokudō and similar style Organized Crime Syndicates 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 permitted.
There is a fledging MC based on Sim if you have an interest in being an MC member contact Tristan Cross / fredfriebel. (This is the only MC permitted on SIM)
If you want to start a criminal Gang / Crew you can, provided it meets the following criteria:
-
Your criminal roleplay MUST be realistic. That means you must be willing to get caught and arrested for your crimes.
-
You and your members must be established in RP on sim.
-
To be called a gang or anything else that's a collective, you must have at least 4 members who are not alts of other members of the same gang.
-
No one person or gang is all-powerful. If illegal weapons are your thing, you do not also get to have endless amounts of narcotics.
𝗗rugs
Cocaine, Heroin, Fentanyl
Meth
-
Meth is reasonably simple to manufacture by anybody with the basic equipment and know-how to do so. If you want to set up a meth lab in your spare room, you can, without restriction.
Weed
-
Weed is relatively simple to grow, and needs only a few easily sourced items to do so. Therefore it’s realistic that anybody could potentially, set up a ‘Grow-Op’, provided they have a secure private space to do so.
-
Note: In South Carolina, cannabis is illegal for both medicinal and recreational use. This means there are potential IC consequences if you are caught smoking in public or selling cannabis.
-
Controlled prescription medications
-
Pretty much anything you can think of that needs to be prescribed by a Doctor or health-care professional, including opiates, can be sourced via the Internet. However, the realism rule still applies. Keep quantities realistic. Be aware that mail is often scanned and checked, and the chance of at some point losing a shipment to law enforcement is a high probability. Also, keep in mind, that what you think you are buying blindly online, sometimes turns out to be entirely fake, or even toxic and dangerous.
-
MDMA/Ecstasy, Acid/LSD and similar.
-
Can all realistically be sourced online, if you know where to look.
Firearms and Weapons
The use of firearms is allowed in Jade Island, however, players must keep within the sim’s modern-day urban theme with their weapons choice.
Knives, machetes, handguns, bolt-action, and pump-action shotguns 𝗔𝗥𝗘 permitted and realistic.
Bombs, Nukes, Hand Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Dynamite, Chemical Weapons, or any other weapon, which causes or could cause mass destruction, or mass casualty situations 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 permitted.
𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
-
The ammunition available for any firearm on Jade Island is standard and commercially accessible to everyone. There are no enhanced munitions available for anyone. If standard bullets do not meet your specific needs, you might want to consider using a bladed weapon instead.
𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗔 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗬 𝗟𝗔𝗪𝗦

South Carolina employs what is known as 'Constitutional Carry'. Under this law anyone not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm can carry a gun anywhere in the state, concealed or openly, except for sensitive locations like courthouses and police departments. Both state and federal laws prohibit certain individuals from carrying a firearm. Prohibited persons are as follows:
-
Persons who have been convicted of a felony.
(If you have a felony prison sentence in your backstory) -
Persons who are mentally ill.
(If you are playing a clinically diagnosed mentally ill Character) -
Persons who have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence.
(If your back story contains info regarding a conviction for DV.)
-
So that's something to keep in mind depending on the character you are playing.

𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦
-
In South Carolina, there are no restrictions on magazine capacity. This means you can legally roleplay with an extended magazine in your firearm. Please remember that all ammunition must be standard and commercially available without exception.
IC Combat
All combat scenes must follow the 3-post rule:
-
𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁: 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻.
-
𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁: 𝗔𝗶𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻.
-
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁: 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲/𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻.
Players must acknowledge and accept the risks associated with any firefight or melee they engage in. To avoid being shot or injured, refrain from shooting at or attacking other players.
NPC's
NPC's see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.
This means they will never be available to give you an alibi, witness a crime, tell tales, or have any form of impact in any way on storylines.
NPCs 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 allowed to be used to increase numbers in gangs or make your character untouchable. NPCs in Jade Island are always unarmed, unable to defend anybody and useless as productive members of anything.
NPCs 𝗔𝗥𝗘 permitted to be "victims" of crime, particularly homicide. The understandable lack of Playing Characters who are willing to kill off characters they have worked hard to develop means NPCs are prime candidates for homicide, should you need a murder victim.
Should your character kill an NPC, that crime will be treated as though it were a Playing Character.
If you are arrested for the Murder of an NPC, you are expected to treat that roleplay as if you are accused of killing a Playing Character.
